Resources for Guest Editors

Welcome to ISJ Guest Editors.
This page provides some resources for you in editing a Special Issue of ISJ. Also check the page on Special Issues in general and the Call for Papers for current Special Issues. Please check that your special issue appears in this page.

Guest Editors are responsible for the Call for Papers, reviewers and reviewing, right through to publication of the issue, including writing an Editorial.

A statement of the specific role of Guest Editors and how to undertake that role is available for download below. You should have already had this document as Part 1 contains details of how to become a GE, but if not it contains most of the information you will need and needs to be read carefully. Two key points to be noted are (i) The standards and reviewing processes of Special Issues have to be the same as for normal ISJ issues and the Editors reserve the right to veto papers, or indeed the issue, if they feel that ISJ standards have not been met, (ii) Guest Editors are not allowed to submit or publish their own papers in their Special Issue.

Other resources provided are various forms. We ask you to use the standard ISJ Paper Evaluation Form. The other forms and documents are things you might find useful – please feel free to amend them for your specific needs.
